UBISOFT TO PREMIERE A FIRST LOOK AT TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON SHORT FILM AT COMIC-CON PANEL

Panel to Feature New Details on the Short Film and Video Game

SAN FRANCISCO – July 19, 2010 – Ubisoft will reveal exclusive details on its new short film Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Alpha at a Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11 am.

In partnership with Little Minx, a company of Ridley Scott and Associates, Ubisoft is developing a live action short film based on the Ghost Recon brand that will serve as a complementary experience to the upcoming video game release of Tom Clancy™’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier™.  The panel will feature key members of the film’s production team discussing new information about the short film, in addition to providing new content on the highly anticipated video game.

The panel highlights Ubisoft’s leadership in extending its video game intellectual properties to multiple entertainment mediums in order to deepen the player’s immersion with the game’s universe. Following Ubisoft’s successful entry into short films last year with the production of Assassin’s Creed Lineage™, the new Ghost Recon short film will be released in conjunction with the launch of the video game in early 2011.

Panelists will discuss the convergence between films and video games. Key talent from the production of the short film featured on the Comic-Con panel include Oscar-Winning director François Alaux (Logorama), associate producer and technical advisor to all Ridley Scott Associates films Harry Humphries (Transformers 3, Ironman), BAFTA Film Award nominee and director of cinematography Trent Opaloch (District 9), and Ubisoft video game studio producer on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Adrian Lacey. The panel will be moderated by Geoff Keighley from Spike TV.

Panel Details:

The Comic-Con panel will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11 am in room 25ABC.
